General Elections to 18th Lok Sabha Schedule Announced for Andaman & Nicobar Islands

The Chief Election Commissioner of India spoke to the press and announced the schedule for the General Elections for the 18th Lok Sabha. The Andaman & Nicobar Islands Parliamentary Constituency (ANIPC) scheduled to unfold in a single phase on April 19 2024. Mr. B S Jaglan, IAS, the Chief Electoral Officer of A&N Islands, has informed that with the announcement of the election schedule, the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) has been immediately put into effect. This MCC will apply to all candidates, political parties, as well as to the Union and State Governments and UT Administration, Commissions, Corporations, Committees, and related entities. Any violation of these guidelines will be dealt with firmly.

The District Election Office in SA has set up a toll-free helpline number 1950. This number is specifically for people to call if they have any complaints about bribery, threats, or intimidation during the election.

In preparation for the upcoming elections for the 18th Lok Sabha, the Election Commission of India has meticulously planned to ensure that principles of freedom, fairness, participation, accessibility, inclusivity, transparency, and peace are upheld. The Commission has taken extensive measures to facilitate a smooth and efficient electoral process.
